The cable television network Nickelodeon
has created a resurgence in popularity of classic television shows of the
1960s and 1970s. Enjoying the limelight once again are shows such as The
Dick Van Dyke Show and Get Smart. For those who love bumbling
ace spy Maxwell Smart, Joey Green has compiled a through and hilarious
handbook. Even the most classified of the 138 cases that involved agents 86
and 99 are discussed here, as well as the deadly contents of Agent 99's purse,
instructions for the shoe phone and for the cone of silence, and diagrams of
the Chief's office and Max's apartment. All CONTROL and KAOS agents are
identified and cross-referenced in the complete episode synopsis section. Each
major character in CONTROL and KAOS is analyzed by Green, as are the
actor and the producers. Among other comical lists and dialogues included are
a CONTROL lab requisition form and a copy of the CONTROL spy manual, as
well as the characters' deep philosophical beliefs on a variety of
topics, such as Armageddon and children's toys. This book will be welcomed by Get
Smart fans and is sure to be used while they are watching the show
and loving it.
