Andy Warhol's reputation as the high priest of 1960s pop art was already well established when we commissioned him to design a cover and a set of fashion pages featuring Get Smart star Barbara Feldon-using the same distinctive silk-screen style he applied to his legendary portraits of Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley and, later, Chinese communist leader Mao Tse-tung. The photos of Feldon were taken by photographer Roger Prigent. A longtime Warhol friend, Prigent says the artist attended the entire three-hour photo session. "He was friendly with everyone, but very quiet, watching everything," he recalls.
